OVO Arena Wembley is one of the busiest venues in the world, attracting over one million visitors each year. The 12,000 capacity Arena has hosted the biggest names in live entertainment.
The post advertised is far more than a security officer role and is responsible for all aspects of the 24/7 security provision to OVO Arena Wembley including the safety and security of staff, visitors, assets, and the building. This is an often-solo role in our building & event control room as well as planned patrols.
DUTIES
1. Provide a solo 24/7 service, securing our employees, contractors, guests, and assets.
2. Provide solo cover in the Security Control Room and carry out other duties as assigned.
3. Monitor the CCTV System in compliance with the venue CCTV policies and procedures.
4. Ensure all building systems including, but not limited to, fire system, CCTV, and house radio, are fully functional and maintained.
5. To conduct planned and proactive internal security patrols.
6. Administer security applications and provide management information or evidence for the authorities, as required.
7. To manage access control systems for staff, tenants, visitors, contractors, and productions.
8. Incident and emergency response during event and non-event operations
9. Maintain the Event control log using Excel & a software incident management system.
10. Manage the issuing of keys, radios, and other security equipment.
11. Input and report injury & illness statistics using Excel.
12. Liaise with emergency services as and when required.
13. Investigate and record accidents when reported on site.
14. Advise management of any external site issues.
15. To be fully conversant with the Company’s security and safety procedures and make decisions or referrals as appropriate.
16. To provide assistance to other departments as required.
17. Provide fire warden capability as required.
18. The requirements of the business are such that a 24/7 shift pattern will be required. Lone working including empty building patrols and in a pressurised control room will be required.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
The right people are important, and we are willing to train the right candidates.
Essential
19. Current SIA Door Supervisors Licence.
20. Current SIA CCTV Licence.
21. First Aid at Work Qualification.
22. Awareness of Counter Terrorism Threats and Protective Measures
23. The ability to take control of an emergency incident such as an evacuation and remain calm under pressure and the confidence/ability to deal with difficult situations including those involving conflict.
24. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.
25. Experience in the use of Microsoft word and excel.
26. Excellent customer care skills.
27. The ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
28. Good admin skills and decision making
29. Presentable appearance.
30. Reliable and flexible
31. Experience working in the event industry e.g., Door Supervision, Event Stewarding or Venue Security is desirable.
32. Other security experience such as retail, loss prevention or manned guarding.
Vetting Requirements
ASM Global requires all security staff to be vetted in accordance with BS7858 which includes the following:

37. A valid SIA licence or carrying out basic disclosure/ACPO.
