Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable van driver to join our client in Wembley. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely arrivals and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. This role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting both warehouse operations and delivery services. Candidates must possess strong driving skills, physical stamina for heavy lifting, and excellent organisational abilities to succeed in this position.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate a commercial vehicle, including commercial vehicle driver licences, to deliver goods to various locations.
* Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimise time and fuel consumption.
* Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured during transit.
* Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times or issues.
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
* Assist with warehouse tasks such as stock organisation and inventory management when not on deliveries.
* Follow health and safety protocols diligently during all operations.
Experience
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles.
* Prior warehouse experience is advantageous, especially involving heavy lifting tasks.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
* Familiarity with delivery routes, GPS navigation systems, and route planning software.
* Ability to handle physically demanding tasks with efficiency and safety awareness.
* Previous experience in logistics or transportation roles is desirable but not essential for motivated candidates willing to learn.
Salary & Terms
* £14.80 per hour
* Wednesday to Sunday
* 1pm to 9pm
