Hourly Paid Lecturer - Performing Arts (Acting for Screen)
Salary: £28.62 - £37.08 per hour depending on experience
Hours per week: Various hours (starting September 2026)
Working days: Monday–Friday 9–5 during term time (days TBC)
Location: Abingdon Campus
Contract type: Fixed Term Contract until September 2027
We are looking for an hourly paid lecturer to support our performing arts provision, working primarily with students on the acting pathway and with a particular focus on acting for screen (TV and film). You will teach learners from Level 2 through to Level 3 on our performing arts courses, where students are trained to become well‑rounded triple‑threat performers in acting, dance and musical theatre.
Ideally, you will bring hands‑on experience in acting for screen, enabling you to deliver engaging, industry‑informed teaching that brings learning to life. You will work closely with our established performing arts team and collaborate with our media department, making use of our state‑of‑the‑art TV studio and green‑screen facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, assess, and evaluate high‑quality, inspirational learning experiences that support positive student outcomes.
* Support, contribute to, and take personal responsibility for implementing the College's commitment to Equality and Diversity.
* Ensure learning programmes remain current and continue to meet syllabus and employer requirements.
* Develop creative and effective learning resources to enhance and support student learning.
* Use a variety of appropriate teaching methods; embed key skills and provide opportunities to stretch and challenge all learners.
* Promote equality and diversity within the curriculum and respond to individual learner needs.
* Liaise with technicians, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), assessors, and fellow lecturers to ensure effective delivery.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
* A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work toward one).
* Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding and Child Protection relevant to the role.
* Excellent teaching and communication skills.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in acting for screen (TV/film).
