This Graduate/Junior Applications Engineer role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in software development, automation, and engineering within a dynamic environment. Candidates should have a strong engineering background (electrical/control systems) and Windows-based coding experience (preferably C or Visual Basic), enabling development and modification of code for customer applications and core products. Some hands-on electrical experience may also be required.
What You Will Do
* Develop and modify C control software using Visual Studio and a bespoke API for automation and custom solutions.
* Support legacy systems in VB6 and assist customers and engineers remotely with troubleshooting and adding functionalities.
* Occasionally work on-site to provide support and ensure system integration and customer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with design engineers on hardware design and develop core software.
* Interface with third-party equipment using C and protocols such as Ethernet, Serial, Ethercat, CAN, and Profibus.
* Analyze systems to advise on automation methods and diagnostics for fault rectification within complex systems.
What You Will Bring
* A strong engineering background with fault-finding skills and a proactive learning approach.
* Proficiency in C and Visual Studio; experience with other languages is a plus.
* A degree in electrical, mechanical, robotics, mechatronics, or automation engineering is highly advantageous.
* Excellent communication skills, logical thinking, and good time management.
* A full UK driving license with the ability to travel occasionally, including overseas trips.
