What the school offers
St Barnabas is a happy, hard-working and successful school. Our aim is to provide a nurturing and positive learning environment where children are truly at the heart of everything we do, while striving for the highest standards of behaviour and achievement. The success of every child matters deeply to us all.
We offer a wide range of exciting opportunities across academic, sporting, musical and creative areas. Children are encouraged to take part in as many aspects of school life as possible, developing confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.
Our nursery is an integral part of the school and works closely with our Reception classes to ensure a smooth transition into full-time education. This helps children to feel confident, familiar with school life and included in whole-school activities from the very beginning. We also provide our own high-quality and affordable wraparound care, including breakfast and after-school clubs.
Of course, the best way to experience our school is to visit us in person. We are always proud to show guests around St Barnabas and to share the warmth and vibrancy of our community. Please contact the school office if you would like to arrange a visit.
Safeguarding
Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment. Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance. Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant): childcare disqualification; Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS); medical online and social media prohibition from teaching; right to work; satisfactory references; suitability to work with children. You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.
