Compliance Control Room AVP – 12-Month FTC
Join Barclays as a Compliance Control Room AVP. The role manages legal, regulatory and reputational risk across all lines of business, focusing on market abuse, conflicts of interest and information barriers. Daily interactions with senior bankers ensure detailed analysis of private side transactions and trigger downstream controls.
Purpose of the Role
Conduct investigations into non‑compliance, fraud, misconduct or unethical behaviour that may harm the firm’s reputation or financial wellbeing, and identify corrective actions.
Accountabilities
* Identify and evaluate risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.
* Lead investigations into alleged violations of policies, regulations or laws.
* Provide training programs to enhance awareness of compliance issues.
* Document investigation processes and recommend corrective actions.
* Utilise advanced analytics tools to improve investigation efficiency.
* Assess internal and external information and intelligence.
* Fulfil external legal and regulatory reporting obligations where required.
* Advise and influence decision making; contribute to policy development.
* Lead a team or collaborate on complex assignments, coach employees, manage performance and rewards.
* Consult on complex issues and support resolution of escalated matters.
* Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures.
* Manage risk and strengthen controls related to work performed.
* Engage with other areas to align support functions with business strategy.
* Analyse data from multiple sources to solve problems creatively.
* Communicate complex information effectively.
* Influence stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
Qualifications / Experience
* Good knowledge of UK and global regulatory frameworks, including Regulation S and US settlement rules such as Safe Harbours.
* Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive environment with sound judgment and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with an assertive investigative approach.
