An opportunity has arisen for a Substantive On-Call Watch Manager position based at Southam for the On-Call Night Duty System.
The successful candidate will need to be enthusiastic for the On-Call team, a strong team player, culturally aware with excellent communication skills and can work in a dynamic environment.

In accordance with the current Recruitment – Operational Promotion Pathway Service Order, applications are welcomed from:
1. Wholetime &/ On-Call Crew Managers who meet the Pre-requisite requirements criteria below & can maintain a WFRS On-Call Nights Watch Manager Contract.
Supervisory Manager Level:
2. Substantive within their current role, one role below the position being applied for.
3. Competent against the full role map within their current role and in maintenance for all elements of NOS.
4. In receipt of the requisite IFE examination or internal gateway examination.
5. In receipt of the relevant Incident Command Level 1 assessment.
6. Must not have a live disciplinary sanction placed against them from a formal disciplinary process.
IFE Requirements:
7. Watch Manager - IFE Level 3 Fire Service Operations and Incident Command
Candidates who require the “Internal Gateway Examination” must achieve a “Pass” prior to Stage 3 of the process.

Stage 1- Performance and Behaviours Application
All candidates are required to complete the attached performance and behavioural application form and submit it through the electronic portal.
The performance and behaviours application form is structured around the 4 individual quadrants of the NFCC Leadership Framework and the NFCC Core Code of Ethics.
The application will be made up of 5 separate areas, these will include:

The application form will be anonymised electronically and collated by the operational pathway delivery team. Applications will then be reviewed by a panel consisting of at least 1 WFRS operational and 1 WFRS non-operational colleague and one WCC/Independent colleague.
If the individual does not meet the required standard at this stage of the promotion process, they will be given comprehensive feedback.
Successful candidates will be invited to Stage 3.
Stage 3 Performance and Behaviours Confirmation
The confirmation panel (as a minimum) will consist of 1 WFRS operational and 1 WFRS non-operational colleague and one WCC/Independent colleague. One panel member must have completed WCC recruitment and selection course.
Operational panel members should be a minimum of Station Manager for Supervisory Manager Level pathways in line with National Occupational Standard EFSM13.
Candidates will be asked questions which will be sourced from the NFCC interview question database and linked to the four quadrants of the NFCC Leadership Framework:

Two questions will be issued to candidates in advance of the confirmation assessment and two will be asked during the confirmation assessment.
Candidates may be asked different questions, provided they are from the same quadrant of the NFCC leadership framework, all questions will be tailored to be commensurate to role which is being applied for.
Questions will be drawn from the NFCC created interview question bank and candidates will be scored against the recognised WCC scoring Matrix.
Feedback will be given to unsuccessful candidates to prepare them for future promotion processes. Unsuccessful candidates will be required to return and undertake the Stage 1 performance and behavioural application when applying at future promotion processes.
