About The Stores
Both stores are located in prime positions in the centre of town and have recently undergone project boosts updating and modernising the stores. Workington has 35 staff including 5 optometrists, 3 pre-regs, a Clinical Lead Officer (CLO) and a Deputy Optometrist (DO). Whitehaven has 27 staff including 3 optometrists, 2 pre-regs, a CLO and a DO. The stores feature 5 optical test rooms in Workington and 4 in Whitehaven, all equipped with the latest clinical technology including OCT. There is onsite glazing and an additional hearcare room for audiology in the Hub store. Enhanced clinical services include CUES, glaucoma refinement and post-cataract appointments.
Store locations are coastal towns less than 9 miles apart, near the Lake District National Park. Train stations are within walking distance; Workington has a staff car park behind the store.
Requirements Of The Role
Alongside being a qualified and GOC-registered Optometrist, you’ll need to share the store’s ethos. They’re seeking someone who wants to grow and develop the team, offer exceptional customer care and improve patient outcomes. You’ll be a practitioner who prides themselves on clinical judgment, isn’t afraid of a hands-on approach, and is keen to build rapport with the team. In summary, you’ll be a highly skilled Optometry professional willing and able to help drive the practice forward.
