About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Agent to join our Major Projects team based in Milton Keynes. In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the day-to-day operations of traffic signals and electrical teams, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for driving productivity, supporting commercial performance, and building effective relationships with clients, supply chain partners, and internal teams. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused position with a strong emphasis on safety, compliance, and continuous improvement. Duties Oversee all aspects of your assigned depot and operational teams Promote and ensure a safe working environment in all activities Manage productivity and costs, capturing and reporting financial performance via Papyrus Oversee the planning, maintenance, and operation of traffic signals Supervise electrical teams and monitor third-party contractors Ensure compliance with BS7671 and other relevant highway electrical standards Monitor HERS portfolios and ensure all operative competencies are up to date Lead working-at-height activities with strict adherence to safety procedures Drive improvement using Key Performance Measures (KPMs) Identify skills gaps and coordinate training and development with the Contract Manager Ensure all work meets company standards, procedures, and policies Champion continuous improvement using the Action Reporting Procedure Promote environmental sustainability and support IMS processes ("The Way We Work") Foster team morale and encourage staff engagement through monthly meetings and feedback initiatives Person Specification Proven experience as a Site Agent, Site Manager, or similar role in highways, infrastructure, or electrical projects Understanding of traffic signals and electrical systems within the highway environment Working knowledge of BS7671 and HERS Strong organisational, leadership, and reporting skills SMSTS / SSSTS (desirable) Computer literate with the ability to manage systems and reporting tools effectively We are Investors in People accredited We work hard to create an environment for job satisfaction, where our workforce feel that they are instrumental in contributing to the overall success of the business and on a personal level, can access development towards their professional goals and aspirations.
