Our client, a leading environmental consultancy, is seeking an Environmental Technical Lead to support the delivery of high-impact environmental services across the UK Oil and Gas sector. Based in Aberdeen, this role is pivotal in ensuring technical excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic environmental leadership in a fast-paced consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
1. Serve as the technical authority for environmental support on UK Oil and Gas projects.
2. Lead the delivery of environmental assessments, ensuring quality, compliance, and innovation.
3. Develop and approve technical reports, environmental documentation, and strategic guidance.
4. Ensure all deliverables meet applicable environmental legislation and industry standards.
Client Engagement & Business Development
5. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert environmental insight and solutions.
6. Build and maintain strong client relationships across the project lifecycle.
7. Lead business development initiatives, including bid writing and proposal development.
8. Support the growth of the client portfolio through strategic engagement and market insight.
Team Leadership & Mentoring
9. Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
10. Contribute to recruitment and team development in line with business growth.
11. Promote knowledge sharing and continuous professional development within the team.
Governance & Quality Assurance
12. Ensure technical excellence and quality assurance across all environmental outputs.
13. Prepare cost estimates and manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes.
14. Support internal audits, reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills, Experience & Education
Essential:
15. Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
16. Extensive experience in environmental consultancy within the UK Oil and Gas sector.
17. Chartered status with a recognized professional body (e.g., CEnv).
18. Proven track record in leading environmental projects and delivering high-quality outputs.
19. Strong understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
20. Excellent communication, client engagement, and technical writing skills.
Desirable:
21. Experience in strategic environmental planning, decommissioning, or offshore energy projects.
22. Familiarity with environmental permitting, impact assessments, and sustainability frameworks.
23. Experience presenting at industry events or engaging with regulatory bodies.
