Job descriptionWe are looking to recruit a full time Mechanical Heating and Plumbing Engineer based on site in the Huntington area. Travel between sites will be required as per the business needs.There is an additional secure facility allowance of £3,000.00 per annum, which will be paid in addition to basic salary offered, once DV clearance has been obtainedKey Tasks· You will understand and take responsibility for the successful day-to-day repairs & maintenance services based on site or at another reasonable location.· You will work proactively and responsibly in conjunction with the MMS management team.· You will demonstrate a “can do” attitude, with a desire to achieve company performance targets and deadlines.· You will be a valuable team player and possess excellent customer skills, forward thinking and professional.· You will need to possess excellent communication skills.· You will need to be flexible, adaptable and possess excellent planning and problem-solving skills.Key ResponsibilitiesTo have adequate technical knowledge to be able to work on their own and carry out gas, heating and plumbing repairs without detailed supervision in the most efficient & economical manner and in accordance with the relevant legislation.· Clear understanding of contract requirements & instructions from client and line manager for each job pack to achieve satisfactory completion.· To accurately complete all site records & forms, e.g, job packs, risk assessments etc.· To carry out co-ordination with others on site, to ensure works are completed within timescales set.· To ensure work activities are carried out safely and to high quality.· To provide practical solutions to building repairs and installation work.· To meet deadlines (response times) for planned and reactive maintenance works.· Recognise and communicate with the client and line manager by recording any change or workplace event that may delay or disrupt the job in which the works are to be carried out.· To identify procure & progress material requisitions & (follow up deliveries where delegated).· To be a dependable & important member of the additional works team and site teams when required.Personal Attributes* Customer focused - always strives to achieve excellence.* Consciousness - completion of work done notes, forms, paperwork in a timely manner and submission of paperwork completed in full and accurate.* Good interpersonal skills -ability to cooperate with work colleagues, customer and building custodians.* Good communicator - ability to communicate to client, line manager and customer.* Respectful - Will always follow the rules and workplace procedures. such as appropriate workwear & correct PPE* Ability to meet deadlines, high commitment, and level of achievement* Agile and flexible - manage hours in the day to meet with deadlines and prioritise.* Cost minded - seeks advice to ensure correct commercial solutions are offered.* Helpful & proactive attitude -always co-operates with others.* Takes initiative - able to work independently, has a proactive approach and when required, contributes to problem solving.* Dependable, reliable, honest, and remains an asset to the companyEssential Qualifications - Training can be funded for the right candidateCity & Guilds Plumbing Apprenticeship Level 2 Mechanical or equivalentKnowledge and experience of commercial heating, ventilation, plumbing repairs and above ground drainage.Desirable QualificationsGas Qualifications ACS Commercial and DomesticOFTEC OilLegionella Awareness and basic training.Asbestos AwarenessPASMAFirst Aid (Appointed Person)MEWP 1a, 1b, 3a, 3bJob Type: Full-timeMidland Management Services Ltd is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief and marital status.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentWork Location: In personReference ID: V90Job Type: Full-timePay: £37,371.10 per yearBenefits:* On-site parking* Referral programmeWork Location: In personApplication deadline: 14/02/2026Reference ID: V90 - NR
