We are working with a well-established, multi-site organisation to recruit a confident and capable Senior Finance Officer to join their central finance team.
This is a hands-on role with real responsibility - ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys both operational finance and supporting stakeholders.
The Role
You will play a key part in ensuring accurate, compliant and efficient financial operations across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Preparing weekly BACS, same-day and international payment runs
2. Submitting monthly VAT returns and reconciling VAT accounts
3. Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
4. Processing journals, credit cards and petty cash
5. Managing supplier and customer set-ups
6. Raising sales invoices and proactively chasing debt
7. Supporting budget holders with financial control
8. Deputising for the Finance Management Accountant when required
9. Providing guidance and support to Finance Assistants
About You
10. Experienced in a busy finance function
11. Strong understanding of VAT and financial controls
12. Confident with payment runs and reconciliations
13. Detail-oriented and highly organised
14. Proactive, reliable and able to work independently
