Systems Design Architect
Duration: 6 -12 months
Day Rate: £400 - £700 per day
Location: Hybrid (Scotland)
Overview
The integration of functions from one organisation into another will require significant technical alignment across systems, infrastructure and data platforms.The Systems Design Architect will provide senior architectural leadership to assess the current design of technology systems and how they will support the integrated organisation in the future.
This role requires a highly experienced solutions architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure environments, cloud migration, data architecture and modern integration approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the technical architecture design, supporting the integration of systems
• Assess existing platforms, infrastructure and data architecture to define target state architecture
• Provide architectural leadership across infrastructure, DevOps and application environments
• Design scalable solutions utilising Azure services, APIs and modern cloud integration frameworks
• Support the migration of existing applications and services, including data and analytics platforms
• Work closely with programme leadership to ensure technology decisions support organisational transformation goals
• Provide technical oversight on solutions involving Power Apps, APIs, data migration and cloud-based services
• Support the use of modern data platforms, including Microsoft Fabric and Databricks where relevant
Key Experience & Skills:
• Extensive experience as a Senior Solutions Architect or Systems Architect
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud architecture
• Strong understanding of full-stack architecture, infrastructure, and DevOps environments
• Significant experience delivering large-scale system migration and integration programmes
• Experience designing API-based architectures and cloud-native solutions
• Knowledge of modern data platforms, such as Microsoft Fabric and Databricks
• Ability to work across both technical and strategic programme environments
