Job Title: Office Manager – Domiciliary Homecare
Role Overview
The Office Manager will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the domiciliary care service, with a primary focus on ensuring high-quality, person-centred care for service users. The role involves direct engagement with service users and their families, care planning, quality assurance, and supporting care staff to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care in line with CQC standards.
The Office Manager will also be required to participate in the on-call rota, providing management support outside of normal working hours.
Key Responsibilities
Service User Focus
* Act as a key point of contact for service users and their families, building strong, trusting relationships
* Conduct initial assessments, reviews, and reassessments of service users' needs
* Develop, implement, and regularly review person-centred care plans and risk assessments
* Ensure care is delivered in line with individual preferences, dignity, independence, and choice
* Respond promptly and professionally to concerns, complaints, or safeguarding issues
Quality & Compliance
* Support the Registered Manager in maintaining compliance with CQC regulations and company policies
* Carry out spot checks, service user reviews, and quality audits to ensure high standards of care
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation, including care plans, daily notes, and incident reports
Staff Support
* Provide guidance, supervision, and support to care staff to ensure best practice
* Assist with staff inductions, training, and ongoing development
* Support rota management and continuity of care for service users when required
Operational Support
* Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence
* Participate in the on-call rota, typically one on-call shift per week, providing advice and support to staff
* On-call duties will be paid in addition toy the Office Manager's salary
* Liaise with health professionals, local authorities, and external agencies as required
* Contribute to service improvement and the promotion of a positive care culture
Skills & Experience
Essential
* Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
* Experience working within domiciliary or community care
* Strong understanding of person-centred care and safeguarding principles
* Good knowledge of CQC standards and regulatory requirements
* Experience working directly with service users, including care planning and reviews
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to manage challenging situations with empathy and professionalism
