This will include planned and preventative maintenance of sewage pumping stations to support the operation of our assets.

On a day-to-day basis, you will receive your workload and will also be answering emergency alarms. You will be working as part of a team but may also be alone, which highlights the importance of our high health and safety standards.

The role also requires you to take part in a 1 week in every 6 weeks out of hours emergency standby rota, for which you receive additional payments.

What you should bring to the role as a Mechanical & Electrical Technician:

* You should be a time-served apprentice with significant experience in electrical systems working in a “true multi-skilled” capacity.

* ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering is crucial.
* Experience in maintaining, testing, installing, and fault diagnosis on electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial.
* The work requires you to work in confined spaces with the successful completion of appropriate training.
* A valid driving licence is essential and all necessary equipment, such as vehicles and tools are provided.

We are looking for you to:

* Be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves into the team around them, disciplined, and have a desire to learn from those around you.
* Take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to understand the problem fully, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time.
* Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team.
* Work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Be proactive in leading recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively.
* Be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
* Have knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards.

What’s in it for you?

* Base salary up to £39,000 per annum plus standby & overtime opportunity, increasing earning by a potential £8,000 - £10,000.
* 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with length of service (plus bank holidays).
* Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% - 2x employee contribution.
