ATA is working closely with a long-established engineering company, renowned for innovative solutions and commitment to excellence in the Water Industry. Established in 1908, they design, manufacture, and install top-quality equipment.
Role Overview: The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will prepare engineering drawings using SolidWorks 3D modelling software, design and select equipment, issue Bills of Materials for manufacturing, and collaborate with the workshop team. Additional responsibilities include developing new product designs, conducting prototype testing, maintaining existing designs, attending site surveys, and participating in internal pre-let meetings. Opportunities may also include project management, contracting, health & safety, and quality management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Engineering Drawings: Prepare detailed drawings using SolidWorks.
2. Equipment Design: Design and select equipment meeting industry standards.
3. Manufacturing Collaboration: Issue Bills of Materials and work closely with the workshop team.
4. Product Development: Develop new designs and conduct prototype testing.
5. Design Maintenance: Update and maintain existing designs.
6. Site Surveys: Conduct site visits to gather data for design improvements.
7. Team Meetings: Participate in internal pre-let meetings to align project goals.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Educational Background: Degree in engineering or HNC/HND.
2. Industry Experience: Strong engineering background, preferably in Water Industry, sheet metal, or fabrication.
3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in preparing manufacturing drawings.
4. Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
