Here within the Cancer Nursing Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, we are looking to recruit a dynamic registered nurse to the post of Band 6 Urology Cancer Specialist Nurse for 9 months maternity cover.
The role requires a nurse who can work autonomously within their scope of practice and support the team to deliver safe effective care to our patients. Furthermore, the appointee must be equipped with excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a diverse multi-disciplinary group of clinicians, patients, and allied healthcare providers.
You must be self-motivated, enthusiastic, organised, computer literate and able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with a commitment to continued personal development.
This role will require flexibility and potential for cross site working.

Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for the management of a defined caseload.
The post holder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards of care. The post holder will provide specialist nursing care and advice to a specific patient group and will contribute to the development of the speciality service. The post holder will ensure cost effective use of resources.
The main duties of the role are:

10. Registered Nurse (Level 1)
11. Diploma level education of equivalent
12. Recognised teaching/ assessing qualification
13. Non-medical prescriber - as determined by the needs of the service

14. Post registration qualification in specialty
15. Working towards degree or equivalent
