North Lanarkshire is the largest local authority social landlord in Scotland with approximately 36, council houses. Within the Housing service there are four locality offices covering Airdrie/Cumbernauld, Coatbridge/Kilsyth, Bellshill/Motherwell and Wishaw/Shotts with our Rents team located in Viewpark.
As a Housing Co-ordinator within the Public Protection Team, you will support the role of Housing Service Manager’s to support partners to work together to ensure North Lanarkshire’s communities are safe and supported. You’ll work closely with partner agencies, including Registered Social Landlords to manage and support individuals involved in arrangements such as MAPPA, Justice Throughcare, MARAC/MATAC, and hospital discharges for restricted patients. Working together we will endeavour to ensure Housing meets all legal and partnership responsibilities, in terms of Housing statutory duties, information sharing, GDPR, and Adult and Child Protection, including cognisance of partners roles and responsibilities. You will also deputise for the Housing Service Manager as required.
This is a busy and fast‑paced role, where you’ll need to balance priorities, support the management of risk, ensure effective services for tenants and service users. Your work will support homeless prevention, tenancy sustainment, and safe community reintegration across social housing stock.
You must have a sound knowledge of housing related legislation together with experience and knowledge of supporting service user’s housing needs across housing disciplines.
Experience of staff supervision, managing and reviewing performance to achieve agreed objectives, managing employees and processes as well as experience of service development are also essential. IT and report writing skills are also essential for this post.
You will have the CIH Level 4 or Level 5 Diploma in Housing, or the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing or SVQ3 in Social Services & Healthcare and be willing to work towards the required qualification in a specified timescale.
You will require to be registered or eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
This is a temporary position for a 12-month duration.
Work pattern:
35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55-minute unpaid break)
Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50-minute unpaid break)
