Join us as a Data Science Manager and you’ll be a big part of this. Role P urpose : We're looking for a high-impact Data Science Manager to lead the development and delivery of complex analytics and machine learning solutions that unlock customer insight, drive smarter decision-making and fuel personalisation across B&Q and TradePoint. Key Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end delivery of data science projects, challenging current approaches and driving innovation. Develop and deploy predictive models (e.g. churn, forecasting, customer value) and customer segmentations. Build and improve marketing measurement models, including incrementality and effectiveness. Translate business goals into data science solutions, working closely with product managers and stakeholders. Manage project backlogs using Agile methodologies to prioritise analytical needs. Support personalisation and targeting strategies across all customer channels. Stay ahead of industry trends and bring external thinking into B&Q’s data science practice. Drive adoption of data science products across the business and ensure they deliver measurable value. Build strong cross-functional relationships and advocate for data-driven decision-making. What You’ll Bring: Experience working specifically with customer data Advanced programming skills in Python or R, with strong SQL knowledge and clean coding practices. Proven experience in machine learning, predictive modelling, segmentation, and time series analysis using tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, or Keras. A track record of deploying data science solutions into production and driving measurable business impact. Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery). Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience managing technical teams in Agile environments. A commercial mindset with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights. Passion for data quality, governance, and version control (GitHub). A curious, collaborative approach and a flair for storytelling with data.
