Salary: £61,620 – £72,592 + benefits
Working pattern: Permanent, Full‑time, Flexible (first options available)
Role Overview
As a Construction Assurance Manager reporting to the Project Director, you will maintain high safety and quality standards across construction projects, leading with authority and ensuring compliance with plans, legislation and standards. This role is vital to our net‑zero future and offers scope for leadership and innovation.
Responsibilities
* Ensure site works are executed safely, following construction phase plans, SSEN procedures and project quality plans, addressing defects before handover.
* Proactively identify and minimise issues impacting project cost or schedule, maintaining clear and consistent communication.
* Act as NEC Supervisor, managing defects and quality matters, assessing & reporting non‑compliance and ensuring compliance with Large Capital Governance.
* Identify and implement business improvements and drive innovation.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and stakeholders to support project delivery.
Qualifications
* Engineering qualification and extensive construction delivery experience in infrastructure or similar environment.
* Deep understanding of construction quality assurance, interface management, multi‑contract delivery and proven NEC Supervisor experience.
* Experience with health & safety legislation, especially Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015.
* Proficient in defect‑resolution contract management software and in producing progress compliance reports.
* Exceptional organisational, communication, conflict‑resolution and project‑planning skills, with strong prioritisation ability.
Regular travel to sites is required. A current driving licence is mandatory.
