The ED team at Royal Blackburn is looking to recruit Band 5 Paediatric staff nurses to join our busy and expanding team.
We are a busy department covering a diverse population and are a major trauma unit.
We seek self-motivated nurses who are committed, flexible, and approachable to help advance our department.

Our team includes ENPs, ACPs, and Practice Educators, supported by a diverse and innovative senior nursing team. We value the varied experiences and qualities staff bring.
Working for our organisation
The Royal Blackburn Teaching Hospital Emergency Department provides care for both adults and children with serious illnesses or injuries, serving approximately 154,000 attendees annually. The department features an 8-bed resuscitation area and 43 major cubicles.
It is a trauma unit with a helipad onsite for critical patients via North West Air Ambulance.
Facilities include a state-of-the-art staff changing area with showers, a staff room, an education room, and a wellbeing retreat.
Additional services include 2 Urgent Care Centres and 2 Minor Injuries Units at Accrington Victoria Hospital and Rossendale Health Centre.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
This role is primarily for our paediatric area but also covers all department sections, including ED majors, Resus, UCC, and potential work at Burnley's UCC and Accrington Victoria's MIU. The department supports new staff with a welcoming, supportive culture emphasizing nursing development and skill expansion. A period of supernumerary time will be provided, with mentorship support.
