Job Description
Interim Professional Development Lead | Membership Organisation | Hybrid Role
I’m working with a well-established, purpose-led professional membership body that is committed to supporting its community through high-quality learning and career development opportunities.
They are looking for an experienced Professional Development Manager to join on an interim basis. This is a vital role with responsibility for the strategy, delivery, and growth of their professional development programme—ranging from webinars to digital learning materials—supported by a dedicated LMS Officer.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead the planning and execution of engaging, high-quality development opportunities that deliver real value to members. Key responsibilities include:
* Shaping the strategic direction of the organisation’s learning programme
* Overseeing the day-to-day operations of an established learning management system (Brightspace)
* Designing and delivering webinar content and digital resources in collaboration with external contributors
* Managing and mentoring the LMS Officer, ensuring effective delivery and performance
* Collaborating with Marketing and internal teams to drive engagement and maximise uptake
* Evaluating learning experiences and using member feedback to continuously improve quality and relevance
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a skilled professional with a passion for adult learning and stakeholder engagement. Ideal candidates will have:
* 3+ years’ experience in professional development or adult education roles with strategic responsibility
* Proven experience managing learning platforms and coordinating digital content
* Strong project management and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on, collaborative approach
* Excellent communication and marketing awareness
* Prior experience leading and developing team members
* Confidence in managing multiple workstreams and deadlines
Experience in the not-for-profit, membership, or training sector is a plus—but not essential.
What can we offer?
* Contract: Full-time, fixed-term (9–12 months maternity cover)
* Salary: £36,000 per annum
* Location: Hybrid (2–3 days/week in Milton Keynes office; 2–3 days remote)
* Start date: As soon as possible. Increased office-based onboarding expected in the first month
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys owning the end-to-end learning experience, influencing strategy, and delivering impact in a warm, values-driven setting.
