What Are We Looking For?

Our HSE department is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, working from either Cumbernauld, Edinburgh, or Dalgety Bay, servicing our Chemical & Biological team across Scotland. Your role will involve ensuring that all RSE company's activities are carried out in accordance with all relevant Health and Safety legislation and that all persons affected, either directly or indirectly, are not subjected to avoidable risks.

Please note that owing to the nature of this role and the location of works, this position will require travel across Scotland.

Some of Your Key Duties Include:

1. Ensure that all activities comply with RSE's Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental management systems.
2. Ensure that all requirements under the current CDM regulations are satisfied, including assisting project teams in compiling Construction Phase Plans.
3. Provide assistance on all QHSE issues to departments and individuals within the Ross-shire engineering group as required, under the day-to-day direction of the Health & Safety Manager.
4. Carry out QHSE inspections and audits at RSE company premises and construction sites to ensure activities are safe and hazards are minimized.
5. Complete inspection and audit reports, highlighting issues/non-conformance, and distribute them to relevant project and company personnel.
6. Assist and advise Engineers/Site Managers with health & safety risk assessments and safe working procedures.
7. Produce COSHH assessments as required.
8. Communicate and liaise effectively with all departments within the business.

What Do You Need?

* NEBOSH General (Level 3) certification or working towards it.
* Practical understanding of QHSE management, with a focus on building relationships with delivery teams.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
* Experience applying health & safety practices in manufacturing and construction sites; utilities experience is highly advantageous.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
