Overview
MRJ Associates are working on behalf of Enfield Council, recruiting for Building Safety Coordinator/Business Support within the Local Authority, paying up to £24.79ph umbrella equivalent.
Contract: minimum 3 months, starting ASAP. 36 hours per week across a 5-day rota. Up to £24.79 per hour (Umbrella).
Responsibilities
* Oversee the safety of high-rise residential buildings within the council housing stock through a robust inspection regime.
* Work from within the community both individually and as part of a team to develop and smooth the running of high-rise locations in line with local policies, procedures and legislation.
* Collaborate with various stakeholders to maintain safe living environments for residents.
* Engage with residents to document and update information on person-centred fire risk assessments (PCFRA).
* Carry out block-based inspections to assess risk and undertake periodic PCFRAs, reporting key findings to the relevant service.
* Respond to resident, public and member enquiries and complaints end to end; escalate as appropriate.
* Maintain data and records in accordance with standards and Data Protection/Freedom of Information regulations, including housekeeping of computerized and paper information following document management processes.
* Carry out all accountabilities in compliance with the Council's Policies and Procedures.
Skills and Abilities
* Work flexibly to deliver high quality Estate Operations services and provide effective resident engagement on building and fire safety in high-rise properties.
* Understand the objectives, direction and development of the service area to meet changing needs, with emphasis on customer relations, continuous service improvement and portraying a positive image of the Council.
* Contribute to a culture that is customer-focused, value-for-money, and delivers high standards of customer service, health and safety, and the Council's core values.
* Provide property management ensuring health and safety, residents' safety, testing and regular inspections are undertaken; repairs are completed; and properties, blocks, schemes and estates comply with regulations.
* Maintain partnerships and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Experience, Knowledge
* Ability to speak with members of the public in English; provide advice in accurate spoken English; be polite and courteous.
* Experience of regular face-to-face engagement, including customer service roles.
* Knowledge of health and safety and residents' safety regulations (including PCFRA function).
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and in maintaining partnerships.
* Knowledge of housing law and Building Safety Act 2022.
* Willingness to make decisions and be accountable; a positive can-do attitude with responsibility for service delivery.
Qualifications
* Willingness to undertake housing-related qualification.
