Overview
Rotational Band 5 Occupational Therapist - permanent contract, 37.5 hours per week. Closing date: 26 March 2026. Based at West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven. This role may be suitable for individuals Returning to Practice. Please speak to the recruiting manager for more information. Induction, ongoing professional support, preceptorship and annual appraisal are provided. We welcome both qualified, registered Occupational Therapists and those awaiting HCPC registration in the coming months.
Main duties
* Join a rotation that covers Medical, Surgical, Orthopaedics, Elderly Care, Stroke Rehabilitation and Copeland and Allerdale Community Rehabilitation Services.
* Work as part of a team while developing independent practice and delegation skills to support staff.
* Participation in a rotation typically held for 6 months, with the opportunity to explore specialist areas of practice across rotations.
* Access to a strong Occupational Therapy network across health and social care with professional development opportunities and regular supervision.
* Be encouraged to become an active member of the Band 5 Peer Support Group.

Qualifications
* Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
* Current registration with HCPC
Experience
* Wide range of practice placements including physical disability in an acute hospital, community rehabilitation, and related experiences
* Experience in managing a caseload
Knowledge
* Continuing professional development with portfolio
* Occupational therapy models of practice and frames of reference
* Clinical governance
* Microsoft Word and Internet use

* Evidence of relevant health-related training courses

* Ability to travel extensively across North Cumbria
* Ability to travel independently and transport patients or equipment as needed
