Post and Location

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the mid Mersey team. The successful applicant will work within St Helens and Knowsley, providing care to patients in a variety of settings across the mid Mersey place. The role will involve regular travel across multiple sites; therefore, the post holder must be able to meet the travel requirements of this post. Responsibilities

* Advanced clinician with a high level of autonomy across the multidisciplinary setting and, for podiatry, leadership of the Podiatry Team in the management of patients within a biomechanical setting.
* Assess, diagnose, develop and implement highly specialist programmes of care; provide expert advice on management of complex patients to team members; lead on development and implementation of service innovations within the portfolio; contribute to training, and participate in performance management as an integral part of the role.
* Deliver high level and complex triage, clinical assessment, diagnostics, treatment and evaluation of health and well-being needs.
* Provide leadership, promote a learning culture, and drive service innovations; ensure excellence in service delivery through evidence-based practice and quality assurance.
* Lead change management to maintain flexible, proactive services aligned with the wider health and well-being community.
* Demonstrate managerial/leadership responsibilities including delivering change, motivating others, providing high level advice, identifying and implementing innovations, and managing resources and performance of staff and students.
* Clinical responsibilities include specialist assessment of complex care needs, high autonomy in programme development, triangulation of highly complex patients, determining diagnoses, planning and implementing treatment/care, and evaluating outcomes.
* Provide advanced clinical advice, training and support to patients, families, carers and professional colleagues to improve their journey and well-being.
* Maintain professional accountability for own work and ensure appropriate prescribing practices where applicable; comply with regulatory and professional guidelines (e.g., NMC for medicines administration).
* Engage in learning and development, maintain CPD, complete mandatory training, supervise or contribute to supervision schemes, and deliver evidence-based training to colleagues and partners.
* Clinical governance and research: evidence professional registration, benchmark service delivery to guidelines, lead best practice, translate guidelines, measure outcomes, and participate in audits/research to improve care.
* Communication: convey complex information to colleagues and external partners; involve patients and families in discussions and decisions; assess capacity and obtain informed consent where appropriate; maintain accurate documentation and data collection; use information technology effectively.


Learning and Development

* Maintain own professional development, support junior staff, complete mandatory training, participate in supervision, and deliver training to patients, families, carers and colleagues as required.


Clinical Governance / Research & Audit

* Evidence professional conduct and registration; benchmark against local and national guidelines; lead on best practice and translate guidelines to staff; measure and evaluate work using evidence-based projects and audits; network to share good practice; implement quality assurance and minimise risk.
