This is a field-based position where you'll be at the heart of project delivery installing, commissioning, testing and optimising automation and robotic systems on customer sites. As our Project Engineer you will: Install, commission and test automation and robotic systems at customer sites. Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with OAL standards and procedures. Act as the main on-site point of contact, ensuring systems meet specification and performance criteria. Provide technical support during commissioning, including system adjustments and troubleshooting. Deliver training to customers on system operation and safety. Produce technical documentation such as installation records, test reports and user manuals. Support fault reporting, root cause analysis and design modifications. Work collaboratively with Controls, Design, Mechanical and Project Management teams. Maintain accurate progress reporting and work within agreed budgets and timescales. Contribute to continuous improvement around project delivery, system reliability and safety. Key Experience & Skills Essential Minimum 5 years' experience in automation, robotics or industrial control systems. Hands-on electrical and/or mechanical installation and commissioning experience. Strong understanding of automation technologies, sensors and control systems. Excellent communication and customer engagement skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement. Full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel and spend significant time on customer sites (typically >50%). It would be great if you had: Experience in food manufacturing or process automation.
