Job Summary
The Purchasing and Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services as well as the efficient management of warehouse operations. This role ensures timely purchasing, proper inventory control, and effective warehouse logistics to support production, distribution, and company goals.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing Duties
Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials and supplies.
Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
Review and process purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records.
Forecast demand and ensure optimal inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstock.
Work with finance and operations to manage budgets and cost controls.
Warehouse Management Duties
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods.
Implement and maintain inventory control systems and conduct regular stock audits.
Ensure warehouse layout and processes support efficiency, safety, and scalability.
Supervise warehouse staff and provide training on standard operating procedures and safety protocols.
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with suppliers, transport companies, and customers.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience (3–5 years) in purchasing, inventory control, and warehouse management.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Proficiency with inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices in procurement and warehousing.
Preferred Attributes
Certification in supply chain or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
Experience in pipe & fittings industry.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Working Conditions
Based in a office environment.
May require occasional travel to suppliers or other company locations.
