The Legal Services Directorate undertakes both criminal enforcement work on offences underpinning the insolvency regime and civil litigation arising from director misconduct. The purpose of this post is to support the in-house legal team in achieving enforcement outcomes. As a Paralegal Officer, you will work closely with lawyer teams to facilitate criminal and civil enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage your own caseload of administrative tasks related to prosecution and civil cases, from issuing proceedings to court outcomes and case closure.
2. Compile documentary evidence for service on courts, defence solicitors, and barristers.
3. Liaise with witnesses, defence solicitors, barristers, and courts to ensure cases are properly prepared for trial.
4. Attend criminal courts across England & Wales as required. You may act as the sole Department representative during court proceedings and assist in trial administration.
5. Update internal case management and document storage systems.
6. Support the wider team to achieve key legal milestones through collaborative case work.
7. Contribute to directorate and agency initiatives as needed.
