Development Opportunity
We are offering an exciting development opportunity within the Coronary Care unit for a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse. The unit includes 6 Coronary Care beds and 7 step-down cardiac beds, and also receives patients on the Treat and Repatriation pathway from Morriston Hospital.
Team and Role Overview
Join our friendly, supportive, and professional team, working closely with other specialties and the MDT to care for acutely ill patients. We seek a motivated, enthusiastic, and patient-focused nurse with a specific interest in cardiac nursing.
A professional development programme will be tailored to ensure the successful candidate gains the necessary education and training for the role.
Responsibilities
1. Deliver high standards of individualised patient care.
2. Exhibit excellent communication and organisational skills.
3. Support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in developing policies, procedures, and protocols, ensuring they meet relevant standards.
4. Participate in clinical practice, shift coordination, and leadership responsibilities.
5. Support and deputise for the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in their absence.
6. Provide leadership and guidance in a complex, pressurised environment, in line with NMC standards.
7. Work alongside and support junior colleagues in direct patient care.
8. Contribute to the implementation of NMC Standards for education, including supervision and assessment of students.
9. Mentor and role model for new and existing staff.
10. Demonstrate the Health Board’s values in all work activities.
