The Role
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will assume full accountability for the operational performance and delivery capability of the firm.
You will design and implement the end-to-end operating model, ensuring the business can scale rapidly without compromising quality, compliance or client outcomes.
This is not an oversight role.
This is a hands-on operational leadership position where you will build a repeatable, measurable and controlled delivery engine capable of handling significant increases in case volumes.
What you will own
* End-to-end operational model across legal delivery, onboarding, case handling and completion
* Throughput, cycle times, conversion rates and case progression performance
* Operational scalability across a high-volume litigation environment
* Quality assurance frameworks ensuring consistency, compliance and client experience
* Leadership and performance of large operational teams including solicitors, paralegals and support functions
* Implementation and optimisation of systems, workflows and technology platforms
* Alignment of operational capacity with financial planning, cash flow and litigation timelines
* Third party relationships including lead generators and external partners
* Board level operational insight, reporting and strategic execution
This role is for you if:
* You have already operated as a COO, Operations Director or equivalent within a high-growth, process-driven environment
* You have built and scaled operational infrastructure capable of supporting high-volume, complex workflows
* You are comfortable operating in regulated environments with strong governance and control requirements
* You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution
* You understand how to translate operational data into performance improvement
* You thrive in environments where pace, complexity and accountability are high
This role is not for you if:
* You are seeking a purely strategic or advisory COO position without execution responsibility
* You have not operated at scale within high-volume operational environments
* You are uncomfortable with accountability for delivery, performance and operational outcomes
* You prefer stable, low-change environments over build and transformation mandates
Location: New Modern Office in Spinningfields, Manchester, UK
This role requires regular on-site presence and close engagement with operational teams. It is not a remote position.
