We are delighted to be working with a long-established and growing steel fabrication company based in Nottinghamshire, who are now seeking a commercially astute and self-motivated Technical Sales Engineer to join their dynamic technical sales and fabrication department.With over 35 years of industry experience, our client has earned a strong reputation within the field of bespoke infrastructure fabrication and design. Their commitment to quality and innovation is underpinned by advanced technical capabilities, including 3D modelling, rendering, scanning, printing, and FEA analysis.The ideal candidate will be expected to take ownership of technical sales tasks, capable of managing sales aspects of multiple projects with accuracy and attention to detail, whilst liaising confidently with customers, stakeholders and internal teams. You’ll need to be proactive, highly organised, and bring a solid understanding of steel manufacturing and fabrication processes.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.In return, the successful candidate will receive a competitive starting salary of up to £33,000 per annum (DOE), alongside a range of excellent company benefits including 25 days annual leave, free on-site parking, and access to specialist training.Roles and Responsibilities * Support the Technical Sales Manager in building and maintaining professional working relationships with current and prospective clients to understand their stringent requirements * Liaise professionally with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met, whilst providing regular updates * Manage and update technical documentation, including design files and cost breakdown sheets * Attend customer facilities and project sites for discussions and technical clarification when required * Support the design department with reviewing and modifying drawings to ensure they meet specification and safety requirements * Support continual improvement initiatives and contributing to product innovation and refinement * Follow up on submitted quotations for feedback and to readjust quotes if required * Prepare accurate costings from initial enquiries. * Liaise with suppliers to assess steel and raw material prices to ensure the business is getting the best dealSkills and Experience * Demonstrable experience within the steel manufacturing or heavy fabrication sectors * Capable of reading and interpreting CAD drawings highly desirable * A solid understanding of manufacturing and steel fabrication principles * Ability to manage own diary and workloads efficiently and effectively * Personable, presentable, and able to engage professionally with clients and colleagues * Capable of simplifying technical information to non-technical customers * Dedicated towards learning the company’s extensive product range * Degree or HNC/HND in an engineering discipline is desirable but not essential * Full UK driving licence required for travel to customer sites when requiredAbout Express RecruitmentExpress Recruitment has been offering exceptional recruitment solutions across the East Midlands since 1987, “exceeding expectations every time” of over 267,000 candidates.We supply a diverse range of sectors including Engineering, Technology, Professional Services,, Sales & Marketing, Call Centres, Commercial, Manufacturing, Local Authority, NHS, Education and Voluntary organisations.
