Medical Receptionist
We are looking to recruit a receptionist to join our busy practice in a part-time time role.
The ideal candidate will be professional, friendly, approachable and a good team player. We are looking for applicants who have excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise. They will need to work well in a busy environment, and to stay calm under pressure. A strong customer service ethic is essential as we want to ensure we continue to offer the very best we can to our patients. Projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone is imperative.
Hours of Work
This is a part-time position, 17.75 hours per week to include working on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Staff are also required to work overtime to cover sickness and holidays.
Main Duties
Meeting and greeting patients and visitors as they arrive, and routing them accordingly.
Answering the phone.
Booking appointments.
Responding to emails.
Processing online patient medical and admin requests as part of the Care Navigation team.
Processing prescriptions.
Opening up and locking up the practice as and when the hours dictate.
Ad hoc admin duties as required.
Experience
Experience of working within a GP surgery is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Experience of working in a customer-facing environment.
IT literate.
Educated to at least GCSE level.
Employees may be needed to work overtime occasionally to cover annual leave and sickness, so a flexible approach is required.
