Summary of Position:
We are seeking a part-time Chef to join our team, including some weekends. The successful candidate will have culinary and management experience, responsible for kitchen functions such as ordering supplies, food preparation, maintaining quality standards, sanitation, cleanliness, and supervising staff.
Duties and responsibilities (not an exhaustive list):
* Support the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals and snacks throughout the day, catering to residents’ preferences and dietary needs (e.g., diabetics, texture-modified food, vegetarian).
* Manage stock and order supplies.
* Plan menus.
* Maintain food safety checks and records as per company requirements.
* Adhere to company policies and procedures.
* Follow health and safety procedures.
* Keep equipment and food service areas clean and in excellent condition.
* Collaborate with the Activities Team for special events within the home.
* Oversee employee supervision and ensure timely completion.
* Previous experience in a care setting preferred.
* Catering qualifications required.
* Food safety/hygiene qualifications required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Good interpersonal skills.

* Adherence to food safety standards.
* Good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Effective time management and punctuality.
General responsibilities:
* Participate in staff meetings.
* Complete mandatory and ongoing training.
