Job summary
We are a friendly, well run andsupportive Practice in Kemptown (part of the city centre of Brighton).
1. We are a team of 21 staff whowork supportively & closely and together.
2. We are a GMS practice comprisingof a clinical team of 3 x GP Partners, 2x Salaried GP's, Pharmacy technician, 2 x PracticeNurses.
3. High achieving QOF; Ardens templates & reporting; AccuRx;eConsults; EMIS

Main duties of the job
5. Provide high quality patient care
6. Carry out surgery, telephone andvideo consultations and undertake home visits
7. Liaise with other team membersand organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queries
8. Investigate and refer patients asappropriate in line with current guidance
9. Deal promptly with results andcorrespondence
10. Provide cover as required whenother GPs are on leave
11. Collect data for audit and QoFpurposes
12. Excellent communication withpatients and carers
13. Attend clinical, clinicalgovernance and educational meetings
14. Strong team player
15. Strong collaborative workingrelationships with partners and all team members
16. Effectively manage own time,workload and resources
17. Attend required training events PLT and feedback
18. Reporting of Significant Incidents involving thepractice

Job responsibilities
19. Providehigh quality patient care including prevention, screening, treatment,management of chronic conditions and health promotion
20. Developcare and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with currentPractice protocols as well as wider guidance NICE
21. Carry outsurgery, telephone and video consultations and undertake home visits
22. Speak andsee patients promptly and in a timely manner. In order to minimise waitingtimes.
23. Ensureappropriate follow up of patients
24. Generate,check and sign acute and repeat prescriptions in-line with practice policy
25. Liaisewith other team members and organisations involved in patient care and respondpromptly to queries
26. Investigateand refer patients as appropriate in line with current guidance
27. Dealpromptly with results and correspondence, clearly communicating any actionsthat are required
28. Providecover as needed, for all of the above, when other GPs are on leave
29. Whenproviding care ensure the judicious use of resources and NHS funds
30. Keepclear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes and patient recordsto agreed standards and in-line with practice policies
31. Collectdata for audit and QoF purposes
32. Prescribegenerically whenever appropriate and in accordance with the Practice formulary,commissioning and national guidance
33. Maintainhigh levels of communication with patients and carers to ensure effectivedelivery of care
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
34. A vocational trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP Current registration with the GMC
35. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
36. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
37. Ability to work with limited supervision.
38. IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the practice use EMIS)
39. Excellent time keeping
40. Exceptional team player
Desirable
41. Good understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QoF Experience and an interest in a specific disease area.
