Job Description
Introduction
Our Client’s hospital has recently undergone a major redevelopment and is now looking to expand its clinical team. Located in Quedgeley, Gloucestershire, the hospital is ideally situated near the Cotswolds, offering beautiful surroundings and great transport links. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join a progressive and supportive team in a well-equipped and modern facility.
Working Hours / Rota
The position is available on a full-time or part-time basis, with shift times varying across early and late patterns. Weekend working is currently 1 in 7, with time off in lieu. There are no out-of-hours responsibilities, though holiday cover is available for those interested.
Role Description
This role offers a varied caseload where Schedule 3 procedures are actively encouraged. Clinical coaching is advantageous, though not required, and training can be provided for those interested in supporting student nurses. The team is particularly keen to hear from candidates with an interest in anaesthesia or surgery but remain open to discussing other areas of interest. Career development is fully supported, and qualifications are encouraged.
Team Size
The hospital is home to 21 Day RVNs, 2 SVNs, 6 Night Nurses, and 6 Kennel Assistants. The culture is collaborative and social, with team events including summer and Christmas gatherings, as well as casual outings like bowling, darts, and pancake day celebrations.
Practice Details
This is an RCVS PSS-accredited Animal Hospital in Gloucester. The hospital is modern and well-equipped, offering a high standard of care across a broad caseload. As part of the Vet Partners family, the practice benefits from a collaborative network of Special Interest Groups and shared learning platforms.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a conscientious and hardworking Registered Veterinary Nurse with a passion for delivering gold-standard care. Confidence across all areas of nursing is important. Clinical coaching experience is a bonus but not essential, and an interest in anaesthesia or surgery is desirable. A positive team-player mindset is key.
