We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Governance Manager to lead and strengthen enterprise data governance capability within a complex, regulated environment. This role will act as a senior authority on governance policy, data quality, and Microsoft Purview, supporting both strategic direction and hands‑on delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the creation, maintenance, and evolution of data management and data governance policies, controls, processes, and standards
* Own and drive data quality metrics, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring measurable improvements
* Act as the Microsoft Purview subject matter expert, supporting the data governance team and associated data roles
* Provide governance oversight across data domains, ensuring alignment with organisational and regulatory requirements
* Engage with senior stakeholders to embed governance principles and improve data maturity
* Support governance forums, decision‑making, and assurance activities
Essential Skills & Experience (Lead Criteria)
* Strong background in designing and maintaining data management and data governance frameworks, including policies, controls, processes, and standards
* Strong understanding of data quality metrics, controls, and reporting
* Extensive hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview, with the ability to act as the Purview expert and advisor
* Proven experience operating at senior manager level within large or regulated organisations
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Nice to Have
* Experience in public sector or highly regulated environments
* Knowledge of data ownership, stewardship models, and enterprise data operating models
