How youll make a difference
As a Casual Team Manager in the Emergency Duty team, you will help improve the quality of services provided to children, young people and adults across four local authorities (South Gloucestershire, Bristol, BANES and North Somerset). You will have a pivotal role in ensuring performance and quality standards across the team are met and the service is delivered effectively to vulnerable people in the community.
What you will be doing
* You will be part of the management team of a service which covers urgent social care and housing out of hours, including Mental Health Act assessments and child and adult safeguarding.
* On an ad hoc basis, you will work evenings, weekends and bank holidays, with responsibility for co-ordinating and managing the work of the team, including permanent and casual EDT officers and administrative staff.
* It will be your responsibility to provide leadership and a high level of support for all EDT officers in relation to practice and decision making.
* You will form effective relationships with other professionals and services working in both in and out of hours.
What we need from you
* We require you to be a qualified Social Worker with relevant registration to practice (SWE Social Work England) and be AMPH warranted (preferred but not essential).
* It is essential that you have previous experience of management or supervision.
* Given the elements of the role, it would be desirable for you to have experience of working within a duty team and in an out of hours capacity.
What you need to know
* This role has an hourly rate of £28.78 per hour, plus an additional out of hours allowance of 20%.
* Please note that due to the nature of this role, it is a requirement of employment that an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (child and adult) is obtained.
* You will hold a current driving licence and be able to travel to various locations across the authority at very short notice in emergency situations. Business insurance must be included in your current car insurance policy.
