Company Overview:
Our client is a well-established Civil Engineering Contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality roads, bridges, track, and infrastructure refurbishment projects across Scotland.
Role Overview:
They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of multiple projects, supporting operational teams, and driving overall project performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
* Maximise valuations and ensure timely certification and payments.
* Manage and agree contract variations efficiently.
* Forecast costs and values across all project elements.
* Work closely with operational teams to procure labour, materials, and subcontractors within budget and timescales.
* Monitor on-site progress and issue required contractual notices on time.
* Review and assess subcontractor quotations, ensuring best value and compliance.
* Manage subcontractor accounts and prepare final accounts accurately.
Requirements
* Qualification in Quantity Surveying (HND, Degree, or equivalent).
* Proven experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role.
* Background in bridges, roads, or infrastructure projects preferred.
* Experience in concrete repair projects is advantageous.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
* Proficient with key cost management and estimating software.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Willingness to travel to sites as required.
