This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader to take ownership of transport operations, ensuring efficient, compliant, and customer-focused delivery services. Role Purpose The primary objective of this role is to manage the day-to-day transport operations, ensuring all customer deliveries are completed on time and in excellent condition, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency. As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for: Leading, managing, and motivating a team of drivers, including daily allocation of routes and workloads Ensuring driver pre-briefs, debriefs, and Proof of Delivery (POD) processes are completed accurately Overseeing vehicle maintenance, servicing, and compliance, ensuring accurate records are maintained Managing tachograph records and ensuring full compliance with legal and company standards Upholding all transport health and safety standards Taking a hands-on approach to resolving minor vehicle defects prior to departure Managing vehicle breakdowns efficiently to minimise disruption Ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies including VOSA and maintaining FORS accreditation Supporting the maintenance of the companys Operator Licence and BRC accreditation Liaising closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure seamless customer deliveries Provide strong leadership, accountability, and daily motivation to the transport team Coach, mentor, and develop team members to build a high-performance culture Ensure KPIs and performance targets are consistently achieved Provide performance data and reports to the Operations Director About You The successful candidate will demonstrate: Proven experience in transport or logistics management Strong knowledge of transport compliance, including tachographs and operator licensing A hands-on, proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills Experience managing vehicle maintenance schedules and transport audits Strong leadership and team development capabilities If you are a motivated transport professional with a passion for operational excellence and team leadership, we would love to hear from you.
