You’ll work with the store team to deliver high-standard clinical care and customer service to meet both patient needs and business objectives. And of course, you’ll be a key part in creating a warm and friendly environment for our customers and our team.
Our store
Due to continued growth, we opened a brand new store in Bar Hill, and are looking for a motivated and passionate Optometrist to join our talented team. This store opened in February 2024, with 5 testing rooms and all the most up to date equipment. The location is also perfect with free parking right outside!
The patient base is very diverse, and we participate in all the local EOS schemes such as the MECS, cataract and glaucoma pathways so your days won’t be boring. We also have a strong culture of developing our own professionals, so you’ll also have the opportunity to help supervise our Pre-Reg OO’s, DO’s & CLO’s if you wish.
Travel
Bar hill is only a 15-20 minute drive from Cambridge city centre, reaching other areas such as Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury, Peterborough, Luton and Northampton in under an hour’s drive. The store's location is also accessible by public transport and a number of current staff utilise these links.

What’s on offer
* A fantastic annual salary of up to £70,000
* PLUS a £10,000 joining bonus (t’s & c’s apply)
* Lucrative in-store performance based bonus scheme, paid monthly.
* Full‑Time (9am – 5pm), with some weekend availability required.
* The store are able to accommodate a regular working pattern, with 2 consecutive days off (if required).

Requirements
We do need you to have a few skills to get started in this role. Firstly, you’ll need to be registered as a member of the General Optical Council (keeping this up to date). You’ll also need to be confident and passionate about providing the best customer service and work well as part of a team.
