Job Overview
The Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team is essential to Amazon’s operations, ensuring that vital equipment runs at peak performance. As an RME Technician you will maintain a wide range of equipment and workspaces, uphold health and safety best practices, and prevent machine downtime. Your role will support our colleagues’ safety and keep our fulfillment centers running efficiently.
Shift Pattern: Non‑traditional shifts, which may include nights and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment.
* Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse.
* Use the latest tools to maximize equipment effectiveness.
* Uphold all health and safety policies and practices.
* Support the development and progression of on‑site apprentices.
* Work on continuous improvement projects and roll out best practices across a range of EU sites.
Day in the Life
On site, you’ll respond promptly to breakdowns, investigate issues, and implement solutions as quickly as possible. You’ll also conduct planned preventive maintenance on equipment, ensuring it works safely and efficiently. Working alongside senior colleagues, you’ll liaise with contractors as needed and cover shifts that support our 24/7 operations.
About the Team
The RME team keeps equipment performing at its best across Amazon’s global fulfilment network. We work together to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment, from automated packaging systems to key distribution machinery. Basic Qualifications
* Served a full Engineering indentured apprenticeship and/or qualified to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Engineering subject (City & Guilds Level 3, SVQ/IVQ).
* Relevant experience as a qualified engineer.
* Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
* Advanced proficiency in the local language, verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in condition‑based monitoring.
* Experience working with print‑and‑apply machines.
* Experience in fault‑finding and maintaining conveyor or automation systems.
