LME Managerial skills are imperative for this position. It is essential that all applicants have previous UK work experience.
Our client is looking for an LME Head of Operations to join their team on a permanent basis. This position does not offer hybrid working.
The overall purpose of the role is to be responsible for the management of operational aspects of day-to-day business, implementation and management of departmental procedures and controls, and ensuring the smooth running of the Company’s operations in compliance with all relevant internal and external regulations.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
* Supervise all Roles where they have a reporting line to you.
* Authorized “B” Signatory.
* Authorized signatory within banking systems to approve payments.
* Authorized to sign off Transfers, Financing, and Metal Swaps within credit parameters.
* Ensure customer payments are within credit parameters.
* Report outstanding or potential problems.
* Maintain and update written procedures for all operational tasks.
* Ensure timely booking of trades in accordance with regulations.
* Complete reconciliations and resolve outages.
* Complete all Regulatory reporting and resolve rejections timely.
* Manage Margin Calls and ensure client compliance.
* Ensure commodity delivery requirements are met.
* Verify agreement of Broker and clearing house statements.
* Manage trade confirmations.
* Execute internal control procedures and advise management.
* Assist Front Office with physical base metals trade financing.
* Liaise with Traders to confirm metals positions.
* Handle delivery and invoicing of Ex-Cleared LME Warrants.
* Calculate LME Fees daily.
* Record commissions and fees accurately daily.
* Inform compliance of potential rule breaches.
* Organize and review annual commodity insurance.
* Review LME monthly performance for trade matching.
* Produce monthly statements and risk forms.
* Review liquidity requirements and make suggestions.
* Produce transaction volumes and discounting statements.
* Oversee option expiry processes.
* Lead or participate in project teams, including planning, execution, and system enhancements.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
* Substantial knowledge of commodities and treasury financing.
* Understanding of core processes across operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance & Technologies.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
* Excellent client/customer focus and bespoke delivery capability.
* Proficient UAT and implementation skills.
* Advanced Excel skills for spreadsheet creation and support.
