Head of PFI Operations
Lead Operational Excellence in a Vital Healthcare Setting
Are you a results-driven leader with a passion for delivering operational excellence in complex, high-stakes environments? We're seeking a Head of PFI Operations to lead the delivery of outstanding soft services facilities services on a critical PFI healthcare contract.
Based onsite, you'll oversee day-to-day operations, inspire high-performing teams, and ensure service delivery meets the highest standards for safety, quality, and sustainability - all while nurturing long-term client relationships and achieving key financial goals.
Your Mission
* Lead a diverse, multi-functional FM team on a major acute PFI healthcare contract
* Build and maintain strong client partnerships grounded in trust and shared values
* Ensure consistent compliance with commercial, financial, and operational targets
* Create a culture of continuous improvement, wellbeing, and high performance
* Deliver safe, sustainable, and efficient services with a focus on innovation and data
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the contract to deliver outstanding customer and patient experience
* Manage full P&L accountability, including forecasting, income, cost control, and risk
* Embed and uphold a zero-tolerance, accident-free safety culture
* Promote sustainability and social value through practical, measurable initiatives
* Collaborate across Compass to drive best practice and identify growth opportunities
* Monitor KPIs and contract compliance, acting swiftly to improve performance
* Develop an annual business plan aligned with both company and client goals
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Degree or equivalent experience in senior leadership of acute FM services
* Proven track record managing complex PFI or large healthcare contracts
* Strong financial acumen with full P&L management
* Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
* Clear understanding of commercial contracts and governance
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Willingness and flexibility to travel to Compass sites across the UK
