As part of a national team of Surveyors, you will conduct building condition and risk surveys on Tesco stores, offices, and distribution centers. This is a regional, field-based role.
You will support our building maintenance strategy and collaborate with development and maintenance teams, working alongside structural engineers and specialists to diagnose building defects. You'll help drive property programs and develop building standards.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Conducting building dilapidation and defect diagnosis inspections, liaising with maintenance teams to ensure proper solutions.
2. Performing surveys and inspections to identify risks, plan works, and prepare specifications for remedial actions.
3. Ensuring quality and cost assurance for maintenance works.
4. Reviewing contractor estimates for appropriateness and value for money.
5. Supporting the development of planned maintenance regimes to ensure effective estate maintenance.
6. Providing technical input for maintaining building fabric across various types of buildings.
7. Working closely with maintenance teams to ensure compliance and effective solutions.
8. Leading individual maintenance projects related to building improvements and health & safety.
9. Ensuring statutory compliance (e.g., CDM, Work at Height, Asbestos).
10. Contributing to design standards and survey processes to specify appropriate building materials.
Requirements include:
Operational Skills:

Experience:
* Chartered RICS/CIOB Building Surveyor or working towards this
* Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying or Construction
* Experience in retail or similar sectors is desirable
