We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Management Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the financial operations of our Farm and Cutting Plant. The Cutting Plant is a butchery and meat processing area.
Responsibilities
* To ensure compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support the Financial Controller with strategic decision-making. This position requires strong analytical skills and a proficiency in accounting software.
* Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
* Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist with budgets and forecasts.
* Responsibility for the Farm/Cutting Plant Purchase ledger, Cash Book, Sales ledger, Stock monitoring, Intercompany stock transfers
* Monthly management accounts - Prepare monthly management accounts by exporting from sage into excel for presentation to the business owner and departmental heads.
Requirements
* A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
* Proven experience in financial accounting and management within a farming environment is desirable but not essential
* Proficiency in Sage 50 Accounts and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.
* Strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
* Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
* Knowledge of prepayments, accruals, depreciation.
* Knowledge of margin calculation is desirable
