Our client is a forward-thinking business based in Rochdale with an expanding internal IT team. With two apprentices already secured, they are now looking for an experienced Helpdesk Technician to provide hands-on technical support and help mentor junior staff. Working hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 depending on experience Benefits: 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension scheme, training and development, friendly and supportive team culture Role overview: This role is ideal for a Level II/III Technician with at least three years of experience in an IT helpdesk or support role. You'll be confident troubleshooting a range of technical issues across hardware, software, and networking and comfortable taking ownership of tasks while supporting others. Key responsibilities: Provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support to internal users Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and networking Escalate complex issues where necessary and follow up to resolution Mentor and support junior staff, including apprentices Maintain accurate documentation of tickets, systems, and procedures Support the continuous improvement of IT systems and processes Experience and skills required: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar IT support/helpdesk role Strong technical knowledge of Windows environments and Office 365 Basic networking understanding (routers, switches, VPNs, etc.) Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach Organised, reliable, and proactive Full UK driving licence preferred Desirable: Relevant IT certifications (Comptia, Microsoft, ITIL, etc.) Previous experience mentoring or training junior team member Please note: we can only accept applications from candidates who have the right to work in the United Kingdom without requiring visa sponsorship.
