Job Purpose
The University of Glasgow is co-leading a consortium of seven universities, supporting the formation of a new national research centre funded by UKRI and stakeholders for a 5-year, £45M programme of challenge-led research into digital twinning for transport decarbonisation. This ambitious programme requires a significant project management team, led by the Hub Manager, with support from two project and industrial engagement managers (PIEMs). The Research Hub is led by Heriot-Watt University, with support roles based mainly there and one PIEM at Glasgow. All support roles report to the Hub Manager, who is on the Executive Team. The PIEMs will manage research teams from all institutional partners, working closely together. The research builds on successful consultations on transport decarbonisation and mode integration. The new research hub will deliver knowledge, technical capabilities, and policy advice related to UK transport decarbonisation priorities, supported by over 65 industrial, research, and stakeholder organisations. The PIEM will oversee work packages and demonstration models across the consortium, maximizing industrial resource contribution. This role requires strong project management and industrial engagement experience. It offers an exciting opportunity to deliver a complex research programme to accelerate transport decarbonisation and build strong industrial and policy networks.
