Responsibilities
Provide a high quality musculoskeletal outpatient physiotherapy service in Swindon at various locality sites as a full‑time Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist.
* Perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment for a range of musculoskeletal conditions, complex physical and psychological presentations, and develop individualized treatment programmes.
* Hold responsibility for own caseload and be accountable for a defined area of the service or a specific patient type, working independently under exercise‑precision supervision aligned to your staff plan.
* Autonomously undertake all clinical duties.
* Supervise Band 5 physiotherapists and contribute to their personal and professional development, including in‑service training.
* Delegate appropriately to assistants and other staff.
* Supervise, educate and assess physiotherapy students to a graduate standard, working with universities to ensure practice and teaching meet degree‑level standards.
* Undertake evidence‑based audit and research projects to further team clinical practice, propose changes to service protocols, and lead or contribute to implementation of specific practice changes.
* Be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including patient management.
* Conduct comprehensive assessments, use advanced clinical reasoning and manual assessment techniques to provide accurate diagnoses, set therapeutic goals, monitor outcomes, evaluate progress, and adjust treatment to facilitate effective discharge.
Rotation coverage includes Spinal, Upper Limb, Lower Limb, Amputees, Pain, general outpatients and may include access to specialist services such as hands and rheumatology, supported by specialist supervisors.
