We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Technical Architect / Delivery Lead to join our team and lead the successful delivery of complex enterprise SAM implementations. This is a senior leadership role requiring deep, hands-on expertise in the ServiceNow platform, with a strong track record of delivering end-to-end ServiceNow SAM solutions in client environments.
This opportunity is ideal for a proven delivery leader who combines technical depth, stakeholder credibility, and practical implementation experience. We are specifically looking for specialists with real-world SAM delivery expertise — not general ITAM profiles or broad platform generalists.
Key Responsibilities
* Own the overall ServiceNow SAM technical architecture, including solution design decisions, governance, and end-to-end implementation delivery.
* Lead and mentor development teams on ServiceNow SAM best practices, including:
* Data ingestion
* Discovery integrations
* Normalization
* Reconciliation
* License compliance use cases
* Operational reporting
* Serve as the primary technical authority for SAM, confidently engaging senior client stakeholders across both technical and functional teams.
* Lead complex publisher-pack implementations and optimisation scenarios, ensuring alignment to:
* Contractual scope
* Audit and compliance objectives
* Commercial outcomes
* Identify delivery risks proactively and implement remediation plans across on-premise, hybrid, and large-scale enterprise environments.
* Drive quality assurance, delivery standards, and best practice adoption throughout the programme lifecycle.
* Support successful transition into business-as-usual operations following implementation.
Essential Experience & Skills
* 10+ years of overall IT / Enterprise technology experience.
* Significant, hands-on ServiceNow platform experience.
* Proven experience delivering ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) implementations as a Technical Architect or Delivery Lead.
* Strong functional and technical delivery background (not presales, consulting-only, or advisory profiles).
* Must have personally led at least one end-to-end SAM implementation on ServiceNow in a live client environment.
* Direct experience deploying and operationalising ServiceNow Publisher Packs, including examples such as:
* Oracle
* Microsoft
* SAP
* VMware
* ServiceNow
* Deep understanding of software licensing, compliance controls, entitlement models, and audit readiness.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior client leadership.
* Experience working in complex enterprise environments spanning on-premise and hybrid infrastructure.
Highly Desirable
* Experience leading offshore/onshore delivery teams.
* ServiceNow certifications relevant to SAM / ITAM / Architecture.
* Experience within consulting or large-scale transformation programmes.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical delivery and business outcomes.
Important Note
Prior real-world ServiceNow SAM delivery experience is essential. Applicants without direct hands-on implementation experience in ServiceNow SAM and Publisher Packs will not be suitable for this role.
